With a peak power generation capacity of 3.5 megawatts, the solar park on the premises of KAPSARC (King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is the largest ground-mounted solar power plant in the Kingdom. Launched on 25 December, 2012, its 5,800 MWH renewable energy capacity will enable the facility to achieve LEED platinum certification, offsetting carbon emissions by an estimated 4,900 tons every year.
